About the book
|
When you suffer from a food allergy or intolerance, it can be a nightmare finding recipes
for all the family and friends to enjoy that are easy to prepare and tasty too.
"With the diagnosis of food allergies and intolerance on the increase, managing our diets properly is an important problem facing more and more of us," says author Tish Richardson. Using a wide variety of fresh foods, herbs and spices, The Tolerant Cook is a collection of innovative, contemporary and flavour-packed recipes that avoid today's key 'trigger' foods. |
All 240+ recipes are free of wheat and gluten, dairy, eggs, peanuts, soy, garlic and onions, and many are also corn-, fish- and/or nut-free — and vegetarian.
There is also an extensive glossary of ingredients and where to find them, tips for avoiding hidden food triggers in everyday ingredients, and nutritional information for each recipe, all of which combine to make this book an indispensable resource for any individual's or family's health and eating enjoyment.
"People with food intolerances should be ecstatic to learn that such a well-researched and user-friendly book has been written with their needs in mind. A must read, and a timely reminder of the importance of truth in labelling."
Ian Hemphill, award-winning author and proprietor of Herbie’s Spices.
"What a wonderful resource for anyone who wants to know more about cooking and food. It is particularly aimed at people with food allergies and intolerances, however the recipes are enticing for anyone who loves eating and cooking. This is an excellent book for health professionals working in the area of food allergies and intolerance to have as a resource for both themselves and their clients."
